In My Mailbox (April 3rd-9th 2011)

This week seemed pretty calm book-wise, but when I got home Friday, I had a whole bunch of parcels waiting for me with about six more wonderful books inside.

{For Review}

The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen (ARC) (TLC Tours)
Invisible Strings: Poems by Jim Moore (D&M Publishers Inc.)
Auschwitz: A Doctor's Eyewitness Account by Miklos Nyiszli (Thomas Allen & Son)
Into That Darkness by Steven Price (Thomas Allen & Son)
Island of Lost Girls by Jennifer McMahon (TLC Tours)
Promise Not to Tell by Jennifer McMahon (TLC Tours)

I have heard a lot of great things about Sarah Addison Allen so I was excited to have the opportunity to read and review her most recent release- if it's as magical as I expect I'll definitely have to check out her previous books. Invisible Strings is a collection of poetry which I hope to read for National Poetry Month- which is this month, so hopefully you're picking up a collection of poetry too! Into That Dark is Canadian fiction that sounds quite creepy. The last two are previous books by Jennifer McMahon for upcoming book tours before the publication of her latest book, which I'll also be reading, so hopefully I enjoy her writing as much as I expect I will. The covers are already creeping me out, I love how they seem to belong together even though the novels are completely unrelated.
Karma by Cathy Ostlere (Penguin Canada)
Wake Unto Me by Lisa Cach (Penguin Canada)
Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen (Penguin Canada)
The Accident by Ismail Kadare (Random House Canada)
The Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht (Random House Canada)

The first three are YA novels that could not be more different- a historical, a contemporary, and a paranormal- but all look quite interesting. The one that caught my interest the most was Karma which is written in verse and follows a young girl during India's instability following Gandhi's assassination. The best surprise Friday afternoon offered was The Tiger's Wife- I wasn't sure if I was receiving a copy or not but cannot wait to read it- IT SOUNDS SO GOOD. I have been looking forward to it for months! I really hope it lives up to my expectations.

Entwined by Heather Dixon (Thanks Jenny!)

I have been hearing a lot of great things about Entwined lately so when I had the option of a few different books for winning a giveaway I definitely decided to go for this retold fairytale. Sounds magical.
