Series To Keep Reading

So before I started reading YA, I never really read many series. But it seems to be a popular format in the genre, or maybe I was just reading the wrong kind of adult books, and now I'm in the middle of a billion (+/- a billion) series. Some of these series are complete, many aren't. Still, I figured it would be fun to make a list of the series I love enough to continue reading. A lot of them seem to be around book 2, and I'm terrified of book 2s because they might have endings like Catching Fire, so I may be unintentionally avoiding them until book 3 is out. But they are still awesome and should be noted.

Also, I really like lists. This is no particular order.
  1. Requiem by Lauren Oliver (Delirium #3, release date: February 2013)
  2. Insurgent by Veronica Roth (Divergent #2, release date: May 1st 2012)
  3. Fever by Lauren DeStefano (The Chemical Garden #2, Released)
  4. A Million Suns by Beth Revis (Across the Universe #2, Released)
  5. The Calling by Kelley Armstrong (Darkness Rises #2, release date: April 10th 2012)
  6. Rebel Heart by Moira Young (Dust Lands #2, release date: October 30th 2012)
  7. Just For Fins by Tera Lynn Childs (Fins #3, release date: July 3rd 2012)
  8. Promised by Caragh M. O'Brien (Birthmarked #3, release date: October 2nd 2012)
  9. Fallout by Ellen Hopkins (Crank #3, Released)
  10. Flock by Wendy Delsol (Stork #3, release date: September 11 2012)
  11. Waking Storms by Sarah Porter (Lost Voices #2, release date: July 3rd 2012)
  12. The Blood Keeper by Tessa Gratton (The Blood Journals #2, release date: August 28th 2012)
  13. Underworld by Meg Cabot (Abandon Trilogy #2, release date: May 8th 2012)
Are there any series you are in the middle of and want to finish? Any book 3s you're anxiously awaiting? There are so many other series I want to start, but part of me feels like I should wait until I finish, or at least catch up on, a few of these. Do you have the same dilemma?

  1. Insurgent! Insurgent! Insurgent!!!! I am so freaking excited for that one! :D The Calling, Promised, A Million Suns, and Underworld, too! :D I'm anxiously awaiting Clockwork Princess and City of Lost Souls, both by Cassandra Clare...both of them left off at cliffhangers/major-moments-that-left-me-angst-filled! I have tonnes more, too. I'm so bad at getting hooked into series. They reel me in and I can't escape. :P haha

PS. I like lists too, Zoë, I should make more of them. :)

    1. Oh man, that's one reason I haven't read any Clare, I have heard how bad she is about cliffhangers and I enjoy series but hate major cliffhangers. I don't think any of the books on this list left me at too bad a point cliffhanger wise, but book 2 is usually especially bad for that so it still makes me nervous. Did you read A Million Suns yet? Does it do that?

    2. Ya, she's amazing, but the cliffhangers kill you! I was so glad I didn't start The Mortal Instruments until the third book was out...but then it became six and so I had to wait anyways. :P I'm not a fan of them either, but I guess they do make me really want to read the next one! Yup, defintiely! Book 1 has a semi-happy or cliffhanger ending, then book 2 destroys EVERYTHING that was settled (usually) and you're left destroyed and waiting for more. Not yet, I had like a stack of 6 library books all due after reading week, so I tried to get through a bunch of them first and a couple review books during my break, so I didn't leave myself much time for it. Soon though! Hopefully... lol

  2. INNNSUUURRRGEENNNTTT.FEEVEERRRR. YES. YES. YES. I really, really need to get my hands on a copy of those. I absolutely hate the cliffhangers they left us off in. I need my fix of Tobias and Tris. Haven't read Abandon. I've heard it was EEEEHHH. I love the Crank series. I've gotten a lot of my friends to love that book. Its sooo soo good. Ellen Hopkins is a godess!

  3. Arrrrrghhh!! I have just finished reading Pandemonium (the new delirium) book after discovering her series less than 2 weeks ago and now I can't get the story lines and the plots and the character and... Well everything about Lena and Julien and Alex out of my head. The way she left it on a cliff hanger was amazing! It was totally unpredictable. The first one made me cry and cry and cry so much and then the end to this one... Wow! I don't even know what else to say!! It was.. it is... Mind blowing! I have been totally addicted to these books over the last couple weeks and now I have to wait a whole YEAR for the new/last one (requiliruim) I really really really hope that she brings it out early! I love them!

  4. Of all of yours the only ones I want to read are Fever and A Million Suns. Other series books I want to continue are:

*Rivals, by Daisy Whitney (which just came in the mail)
*Beads, Boys, and Bangles, by Sophia Bennett (pre-ordered)
    *Scarlett, by Marissa Meyer
    *Unravel Me, by Tahereh Mafi
*Unfriended, by Katie Finn (this one has actually been out for a while and is the third book. I think I'm avoiding it because while I loved the 2nd book, the first was just so ugh and I don't want to go through that again. I feel like book 2 works as a stand-alone)

Wow, this is actually a lot more than I thought there'd be.

    1. I haven't actually read any of the first books in the series you're continuing but I do plan to read Meyer, Whitney and Mafi (I haven't actually heard of the other two). But I'm surprised by how many you have on the list too.

  5. I don't even want to list the series that I have started since I started reviewing books. It would likely just depress and frustrate me.

I tagged you for a new blogger meme Book Tagged.

  9. Just discovered the Delerium books and couldn't put them down. I am not much of an emotional person with characters but I actually cried at the end of the first book. And at about 3 pages before the end of the 2nd I so called what happened. It's a fantastic series. Reminds me a lot of a cross between hunger games and uglies if anyone has read those. So happy I only have to wait a few months opposite of your year! Other series I'm entangled in:

Uglies by Scott westerfield (on #2)
The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong (aka the darkest powers series) (on #3)
The lying game series by Sarah shephard (on #4)
Then of course I'm waiting on #3 of Delerium
