It's a tiny thing, but details like that annoy me. I was reading an ARC though, maybe surgery was mentioned in the final copy.Zoëhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05485997747361791052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4882294318634633198.post-17834642087749901812012-06-06T11:25:50.039-03:002012-06-06T11:25:50.039-03:00It sounded to me like Linda had a compound fractur...It sounded to me like Linda had a compound fracture of her ankle, in which case it would have had to be set using pins. This means she would require surgery. Anyone requiring surgery and general anesthesia doesn't get put under until the stomach is empty.Patricianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4882294318634633198.post-83764486194964705522012-05-25T01:56:36.975-03:002012-05-25T01:56:36.975-03:00lol your complaints were pretty similar to mine. T...lol your complaints were pretty similar to mine. This was so not a romance...and it kind of bugs me that it's marketed that way. It's a great story about growth, but it is in no way a story about romance. I agree, I just didn't feel for David at all. Past David sounded okay, but present David was kind of a tool...at least he seemed that way to me. Plus, we were told not shown past David, so I think that if it'd been presented as actual memories rather than summaries of past events, we might've liked him at least a little bit more. :P

I'm not sure about the broken bone thing. I've never broken one myself (and I hope I never do! haha), but maybe they do it differently in the US, who knows. Or if they had to do surgery, then they probably would have to wait because you can't have anesthesia with food in your stomach...and she was pretty loopy when she called Penna, so it makes sense that they might have had to knock her out for it.

The one inconsistency I noticed, but wasn't quite sure about, was how David went from driving a motorcycle to a scooter to a motorcycle and back and forth...and it seemed like they were talking about the same vehicle, but maybe I was wrong. :P I wasn't sure about it, so I didn't mention it in my review. haha

I agree though, I loved Penna's growth, her friendships, and I also really enjoyed her relationship with Linda...and how Justine kind of got brought into their life. That was great. :)

Awesome review, Zoë! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :DAmburHostynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10269572610984100581noreply@blogger.com
